Two Herbert's Meet

On the 22nd December 2022, members of Coronation Mark Lodge 563 met for a most enjoyable reason. The occasion was to Celebrate 50 years of Membership of Mark Masonry by Herbert Fennings.
The Worshipful Master Brother Geoff Roberts opened the Lodge in his usual professional warm style. This meeting was made even better with the announcement that the Deputy Provincial Grand Master of West Lancashire Mark Masons Very Worshipful Geoffrey Lee stood without and demanded to be admitted.
Following the introductions and welcome the two Geoffrey's exchanged places, and then Very Worshipful Geoffrey became Herbert.
From then on, our D.P.G.M asked W Bro Herbie Fennings to occupy the Masters Chair for the purpose of the Celebration. This has become a very fitting part of the Service Celebrations in West Lancashire Mark Masonry.

Herbie Fennings has been an active member of Coronation Mark Lodge 563, becoming Master of the Lodge in 1981. Even to date he is the Senior Deacon of the  lodge, is always willing and able to stand in for any position that is required.
As a member of South Liverpool Craft Lodge 2681 Herbie is a PPrJGW and he has been in the Chair of his Craft Lodge twice (1987 & 2009). Although Herbie and his wife Doreen live in Maghull they have enjoyed many Social events held at Garston Masonic Hall. They have always felt part of the Masonic family, that is Garston Masonic Hall, (even though Herbie is a West Ham Supporter).

Having served in the RAF and a decent amateur footballer he worked for Otis Elevators (no jokes about ups and downs in his job). Our DPGM made a number or references to having the same name of Herbert and the connection to a certain German Car of that name they both shared the fondness of that that particular Bug.
Even now Herbie Fennings Shows his dedication to Freemasonry in being associated with the Committee of the Friends of the Tithebarn Masonic Nursing home.

The icing on the cake for Worshipful Herbert Fennings was the field promotion to PPGSW. The West Lancashire Mark Charities also benefited from a very generous donation from Herbie, of £500

The evening ended with a very friendly, and enjoyable festive board, and a suggestion from the Worshipful Master Geoff Roberts, it would be nice if Coronation Mark 563 could consider another Social Celebration, for the Coronation of his Majesty King Charles.
